About The Position

Together with the bus driver, focus on Students, Safety, and Service while transporting students to and from school.

Requirements

• High school diploma/ GED preferred
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Basic knowledge of appropriate student management techniques
• Basic knowledge of how to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
• Ability to relate well to students and adults by treating them with dignity and respect
• Providing professional interactions with parents and community members
• Ability to properly secure students, to lift 50 lbs, and to evacuate the bus in an emergency

Responsibilities

• Assisting students to safely load and unload from the bus
• Supervising students to maintain safety while riding the bus
• While riding the bus, all of the safety coach’s attention should be directed towards keeping students in their seats and, when required, properly buckled using the provided safety harnesses/belts.
• Being aware of the requirements of transporting wheel-chair bound students as needed
• Assisting the driver in maintaining discipline and reporting undisciplined students to the transportation director
• Reporting all accidents and completing required reports
• Assisting in keeping the assigned bus clean
• Arriving for work on time according to the assigned schedule
• Completing any and all reasonable duties/responsibilities as delegated/directed by the transportation director.
