About The Position

To provide students with safe and efficient transportation.

Requirements

• High School diploma or valid G.E.D.
• Valid CDL license and Bus Driving Certification
• Able to demonstrate aptitude for the workto be performed
• A history of good attendance, being dependable and punctual
• Able to work efficiently without direct supervision
• Able to communicate effectively with children and adults
• Such alternatives to the above qualificationsas the Board mayfind appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

• Observes all mandatory safety regulationsand traffic laws for school buses.
• Maintains discipline when students are on the bus and reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects and maintains bus cleanliness.
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure.
• Transports only authorized students to and from their authorized stops.
• Enforces all passenger safety rules and regulations.
• Notifies the appropriate authories of all accidents by completing the required reports.
• Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
• Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of district school trips.
• All of duties as may be assigned.
