About The Position

Temp Work Hours: This is an hourly, time-clock position. First shift is scheduled generally from 4:30 AM to 12:30 PM, second shift is 12:30 PM – 8:30 PM, and third shift is 8:30 PM – 4:30 AM. This shift receives an unpaid 30-minute meal period. Overtime hours and weekends may be required, depending on the workload.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or two years of related experience is required.
• Must have strong math and observation skills, with the ability to take precise measurements using a ruler or other measuring devices.
• Proficiency in using basic laboratory and mathematical tools.
• Must be able to use a computer for data entry and transmission, with proficiency in programs like Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to distinguish between colors.
• Must achieve a passing score on the measurement test.
• Must be able to stand and bend at the waist for the entire shift and comfortably lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Unpack, set up, and repack candles for burn testing.
• Light and extinguish candles according to company methods, including cutting and trimming wicks.
• Accurately observe and record data on flame height, melt pool, sooting, wick condition, and other required information.
• Format, store, and transmit data as required.
• Conduct and document flashpoint testing.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all customers' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to burn testing.
• Ensure the burn testing laboratory is organized, clean, and safe.
• Assist with other lab projects as needed.
