What You’ll Do As a Bulk Packager , you’ll be part of our Decorah Operations team located in Decorah, IA. You’ll get to: JOB KNOWLEDGE: 1. Thorough knowledge of packaging machines 2. Basic knowledge of computer usage and ability to learn the Manufacturing System. 3. Knowledge of customer driven specifications. 4. Print and service order knowledge. 5. Basic parts identifications. 6. Thorough knowledge of all material handling equipment. 7. Thorough knowledge of all piece counting scales. 8. Basic personal computer skills. JUDGEMENT: 1. Prioritize activities to maximize efficiency. 2. Recognize the acceptable quality level of product. 3. Recognize unsafe conditions or act and report to supervisor immediately. 4. Recognize maintenance problems with minimal assistance. 5. Ability to recognize situations requiring extra assistance. 6. Recognize acceptable supply inventory. 7. Ability to recognize situations requiring inventory adjustments. PRODUCTIVITY: 1. Observes and reports maintenance problems to supervisor or lead person. 2. Makes minor repairs on packaging equipment and assists Maintenance department with major repairs. 3. Uses fork truck to move product as needed. 4. Sets up electronic scales for maximum accuracy. 5. Assists in other areas as required. QUALITY: 1. Uses proper carton per customer driven specifications. 2. Fills out all paperwork neatly and accurately. 3. Reports quality concerns promptly to necessary personnel. 4. Accuracy of box and inventory quantities. 5. Proper label format and information on boxes. 6. Uses customer driven expectations when shipping parts. Must be available to work overtime as needed. SAFETY/HOUSEKEEPING: 1. Follows all company safety procedures and reports any safety hazards or violations to lead person or supervisor. 2. Ensures machines and work area are neat and orderly.
