About The Position

The Bulk Loadout Supervisor leads the day-to-day loadout and railyard operations at the ADM Soy Protein Complex in Decatur, IL (East Plant). This individual will have knowledge and understanding of the safety and compliance regulations specified by state and federal DOT and FRA guidelines. They will utilize assets efficiently to meet production, quality, safety and environmental goals. This individual shall direct Loadout team members in a manner that results in a cohesive, focused, positive work environment; while ensuring compliance with plant policies, procedures and priorities. The Bulk Loadout Supervisor shall provide guidance to shift supervisors and support personnel to achieve short term and long term department goals. Other responsibilities include: aiding in the management of costs, a focus on safety and efficiency improvements, and ensuring the training and development of Loadout employees.

Requirements

  • 3 plus years of demonstrated leadership experience in an industrial environment
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent leadership skills including the ability to lead others in a positive and productive manner
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Proven track record as a team player
  • High energy level and clear customer focus emphasis
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships to enable the achievement of results over time

Responsibilities

  • Ensures area compliance with safety, environmental, GMP, housekeeping and quality requirements.
  • Ensures adherence to all facility rail safety procedures in order to facilitate the safe and efficient movement of railcars by all loadout and railyard employees.
  • Direct supervision of weekday - day shift Loadout employees and indirect supervision of rotating shift loadout employees.
  • Coordinates with shift supervisor to set plan and direction for railyard crew/day shift Loaders.
  • Leads performance excellence rolling stock committee
  • Provides consistent immediate feedback on area performance utilizing direct personal contact.
  • Identifies training needs and trains new employees. Works with employees in developing a high level of skill and job proficiency.
  • Provides input to shift supervisors on all area employee performance evaluations.
  • Assists with the management of area construction and expansion projects.
  • Serves as the area’s primary contact for maintenance scheduling and planning including but not limited to rail equipment, tracks, loading systems, storage tanks, fire suppression systems, and scales.
  • Coordinates with other members of department leadership to effectively utilize area day operators for high-value Loadout tasks and projects.
  • Addresses production limiting factors and repeating problems. Identifies problems and takes steps to eliminate them.
  • Serves as a contact for area vendors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Interacts with corporate scheduling, traffic, and plant department managers to meet product loading requirements and achieve plant production objectives.
  • Works with department managers in a team environment to develop production/loading/maintenance schedules that ensure on-time shipping of quality products.
  • Participates in the performance appraisal process for Loadout department personnel and makes recommendations to ensure that each employee is properly compensated for work performed as in accordance with established policy.
  • Maintains accountability within the department and discusses the need for accountability actions with the Human Resources Manager and Flour Mill Superintendent
