About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled mechanical maintenance worker, specializing in commercial kitchen equipment in the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and modification of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and related mechanical systems for the Kalispel Golf and Country Club facilities. This position is critical to our daily operations, ensuring our facility infrastructure and high-volume kitchens remain fully operational. Responsible for everything from the rooftop units to the deep fryers, ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of all HVAC infrastructure supporting clubhouse operations, kitchen and food service areas, event spaces, administrative offices, pro shop, maintenance buildings, and other property structures. This role maintains system reliability to support member experience, regulatory compliance, and operations continuity ensuring peak-performance in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of Commercial Unit Service experience preferred.
  • Experience with 480 VAC 3 phase equipment.
  • Prepares and submits requests for supplies and equipment.
  • Use Windows, Excel, Word and other computer software.
  • Data input and operation of Maintenance PM System.
  • Assists in training other technicians and staff in PM of HVAC systems.
  • Provides technical assistance with the design of HVAC systems including installations and modifications to existing systems.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment and design defects and to install, repair and maintain all types of heating, ventilating and air conditioning units.
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints, shop drawings, and sketches.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to understand the standard practices of HVAC trade and theory of HVAC systems.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department heads, associates and the public.
  • Skill in identifying and resolving problems under pressure conditions.
  • Responsible for maintaining good attendance.
  • Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Available and willing to work any changes in hours deemed necessary for Business Levels.
  • Obtain and maintain Work permit level 1.
  • EPA Refrigerants Certification required.
  • HVAC Certification.
  • Gas I or Gas II License.
  • Washington or Idaho State Driver’s License (must be in possession while operating a Tribal Vehicle)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair RTUs, split systems, reach-in coolers, walk-in freezers, and ice machines.
  • Monitor refrigerant levels and ensure tight seals on all cold storage.
  • Troubleshoot and repair both hot and cold side equipment including Gas/electric ovens, ranges, fryers, broilers, and steam tables, prep tables, walk-ins, and blast chillers.
  • Repair commercial dishwashers (leaks, booster heaters) and ensure all gas connections and pilot assembles are safe and calibrated.
  • Maintain kitchen hood systems, including belt replacements and cleaning of exhaust fans to ensure proper airflow and fire safety.
  • Perform general electrical, plumbing, and structural repairs throughout the building as needed.
  • Ensures the quality of the facility and equipment meets all the set standards.
  • Install, diagnose, inspect, repair, maintain and service a wide variety of heating, ventilation and air condition equipment and systems.
  • Replace fans, belts, sheaves, motors, gaskets, filters, bearings, seals, compressors, electric and electronic components and lubricate parts.
  • Adjust and install switches, gauges, thermostats, valves, tubing, transformers, pressure regulators controllers, contactors, mag starters and other parts as needed.
  • Checks distribution systems for proper velocity, volume, temperatures, and pressures.
  • Add refrigerant and oil as instructed and follow established EPA and safety procedures to ensure proper system operation and regulatory compliance.
  • Determine requirements for parts, materials, supplies, tools, and equipment; establish cost of repairs and equipment replacement.
  • Operate specialized machinery, equipment and tools utilized in the repair and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
  • Modify and or fabricate equipment parts as needed for specialty needs.
