About The Position

The Building Supervisor supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Greater Peoria Family YMCA is seeking an individual with a strong willingness to be a ‘servant leader’ and the ability to handle multiple tasks. The Building Supervisor would supervise, support, and lead the various departments within the Y during the absence of leadership staff. This role is responsible for total building safety, security and supervision in the absence of leadership staff in order to ensure a positive member and program participant experience. Enforces all member, program and building policies and makes periodic checks of all areas of the building. Handles all emergencies across the association. This role works a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Requirements

Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid.
Must be a problem solver and demonstrate a proven track record of complaint resolution.
Must demonstrate a dedication to meeting the expectations of members, program participants and their guests.
Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
Strong knowledge of computers.
Work evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

Become an expert on the YMCA and its programs so that you can provide accurate and up-to-date information on programs, fees, and fee structures.
Handles all potential building and program concerns.
Ensures communication across shifts and with Directors.
Supports the membership and program staff to address any member or program participant questions or concerns as needed.
Work within the established record-keeping system (Daxko) to provide accurate information as payments are received for programs, classes and memberships.
Manage all group rentals, including rental setup, checking on the groups, looking in on them during rental times and ensuring they depart on time.
Maintain a positive and organized work environment contributing to a friendly and inviting atmosphere both emotionally and physically.
Liaison to staff and members.
Enforces closing times for building and locks up program area after closing.
Attends required staff training and staff meetings, if needed.
Ensures a secure and safe environment and responds to emergencies and/or accidents.
Report any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to the maintenance staff.
Greet all guests as they enter the facility and adhere to check in, guest, visitor, monitoring youth in the facility and other relevant policies and procedures. Report any suspicious behavior or violations of policy and procedures to the Director of Membership Experience or other applicable Directors.
Conduct tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
Circulate the YMCA during assigned shifts to ensure member engagement throughout the facility.
Maintaining a clean work environment by taking part in basic clean up throughout the facility. Including but not limited to picking up trash, wiping up spills, performing towel runs, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
