About The Position

Its schools have received 96 U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Awards.  Position Summary Operate and maintain HVAC equipment, low-pressure boilers, VAV boxes, hot water coils, fan equipment and various types of mechanical equipment.

Requirements

  • Education Required: High School or GED.
  • Experience Required: Knowledge and experience of general building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of any of the following field’s HVAC, electrical, carpentry, or plumbing.
  • Skills Required: Basic knowledge of HVAC equipment, troubleshooting abilities, power tools, plumbing or carpentry.
  • Ability to interact with building employees in a professional manner.
  • Physical Activity: Must be able to climb ladders and lift 50+ lbs.
  • Other Required: Must demonstrate understanding, respect and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission, and values.

Nice To Haves

  • Education Preferred: Technical training at a Community College or equivalent.
  • Skills Preferred: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, ability to communicate clearly and must have good organizational skills.
  • Certifications Preferred: HVAC, CFC certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all mechanical equipment such as changing of filters, belts, lubrication of bearings
  • Monitor and log all HVAC equipment daily: low-pressure boilers, domestic water pumps, ejector pump operation, etc.
  • Maintain and log Fire/Life Safety System.
  • Report and record daily findings of mechanical equipment to Building Maintenance Manager.
  • Record and respond to tenants’ various requests such as temperature issues, light bulb request, in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records of all work performed on mechanical equipment using the Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Perform daily inspections of interior and exterior of building, reporting unlocked doors, vandalism, to Building Maintenance Manager.
  • Perform other building-related tasks such as electrical, carpentry, set-up conference rooms, snow removal
