This position is responsible for: Performs routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and vehicles; performs routine grounds keeping work of the landscape; performs minor plumbing and carpentry repair. Performs some basic duties to maintain the cleanliness of the buildings. Key Responsibilities: Performs routine building maintenance activities; performs minor plumbing repairs required by leaking faucets and clogged toilets. Performs preventative maintenance of Salvation Army vehicles. Maintains the grounds to include mowing grass, trimming hedges, blowing leaves and collecting debris. Sweeps, vacuums, mops floors and empties trash cans regularly. Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, cleans sink and toilets, polishes mirrors and replenishes supplies. Assists in setting up meeting rooms and keeping kitchen and dining areas clean. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU Knowledge of general building and grounds maintenance practices and procedures. Ability to perform routine and minor repair and maintenance activities of buildings and grounds. Ability to use and maintain maintenance equipment and tools effectively and in a safe manner. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, AND Two years of experience performing maintenance work in a general maintenance environment. OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Valid State Driver’s License may be required.
