BUILDING MAINTENANCE WORKER I
About The Position
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Building Maintenance Worker I is responsible for basic maintenance of the buildings and grounds (non-permit/licensed repairs); and act as a backup for drivers and janitor. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Perform janitorial duties when needed such as cleaning debris and dust Act as a backup driver when needed Ensuring the buildings have adequate lighting, heating and ventilation Responsible for minor repairs and inspections of equipment which may include painting, patching walls, hanging shelves etc. Operates machinery and equipment. Responsible for moving, transporting, and arranging desks, files, and other office equipment during construction Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge in maintenance supplies, equipment, materials and methods used
- Ability to make minor repairs to buildings and equipment
- Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions
- Basic knowledge of the occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance in using equipment to complete assigned tasks
- Must be able to work any day of the week, depending on need
- Current and valid driver’s license required with no violations within the last 5 years.
- Ability to work in a group and independently
- Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English.
- This is an FLSA Non-exempt position.
- This is not an OSHA high-risk position.
- This is a Full Time position.
Nice To Haves
- Previous working experience preferred
- Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin), Vietnamese, Spanish and other languages may be required depending on location.
- Fluency in other languages are an asset.
