The current vacancy is in the Public Works Department and will be filled at the I or II level based on qualifications of the candidate. This is a Temporary, Non-Benefited position. This position is limited to a maximum of 1,000 hours per fiscal year (July - June). Applications will be reviewed as they are submitted and candidates may be notified immediately for an interview. To perform a variety of duties in support of the maintenance and repair of municipal buildings, facilities, and grounds; to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled building trade duties including carpentry, painting, plumbing, heating, electrical and mechanical; to repair necessary playground equipment; and to maintain and operate tools, equipment and vehicles. Building Maintenance Worker I is the entry level class in the Building Maintenance Worker series. This class is distinguished from the Building Maintenance Worker II by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within the series including less complex construction, maintenance and repair duties. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or no directly related work experience.
