About The Position

Under general supervision, this role involves performing skilled work related to the operation, maintenance, repair, alteration, and additions to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical building systems, as well as building furnishings and site improvements. The technician will assist in preventative/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and operating various HVAC-related equipment, emergency generators, and general building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes. Responsibilities also include general building maintenance and repair for elements like drywall, masonry, painting, ceilings, roofing, tile, carpets, and windows. The position requires monitoring and assisting other personnel, including contractors, to ensure work adheres to contract terms, company safety, security, environmental, and conduct rules. General housekeeping duties, such as assembling and moving office items, snow removal, lawn maintenance, and spill cleanup, are also part of the job. The technician will procure necessary parts and materials economically, with supervisor guidance, and maintain required records and inspection documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one (1) year relevant experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing or carpentry (for Building Maintenance Technician B).
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Building Maintenance Technician B or at least three (3) years equivalent experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing or carpentry (for Building Maintenance Technician A).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state drivers' license.
  • "recommended" test results from HireVue Building Tech and Other Technician-Related Roles Virtual Job Tryout.
  • Must be willing to pursue the certification (if referring to preferred licenses).
  • Overtime required.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • Scheduled as well as unscheduled, weekend and evening shift work may be required.
  • Will be expected to respond to emergency call out work.
  • Requires both working indoors and outdoors in all weather.
  • Possess excellent verbal, written, organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, review, revise, and correct blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications and instructions related to the assigned work.
  • Requires the ability to utilize a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrician or HVAC license or CFC refrigerant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance and repair related to drywall, masonry, painting, ceilings, roofing, tile, carpets, windows and other related items.
  • Monitor the work of and/or assist others, including contractors, engaged in maintenance, construction and operation activities.
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with contract terms and conditions and in accordance with company safety, security, environmental and conduct rules.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as required, such as, assemble, move, repair, hang and adjust furniture, wall hangings, doors, windows and other office items, assist in snow removal, storm damage cleanup, lawn maintenance, spill cleanup, inventory management.
  • Procure necessary quality parts and material in the most economical and accepted manner, with guidance from supervisor.
  • Maintain records, including inspection documentation, and submit reports as required.
