About The Position

In this position you’ll perform building maintenance for 1,000,000 square feet of laboratory, vivarium and office space

Requirements

  • HS Diploma in addition to one year of trade school. 2 years or more of experince performing industrial maintenance may be used in lieu of education.
  • 3 years or more of experince common hand and power tools, pumps, fans, blowers, and control valves.
  • 2 years or more of experince reading drawings and single-phase electrical systems
  • 3 years or more of industrial building maintenance
  • 1 year or more of years of using Microsoft software including outlook and teams
  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems, boilers, and other facility-related equipment
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to obtain Lift Truck Certification.
  • Comfortable working in animal research facility
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain tools and supplies in clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in building trades
  • 2 years or more of preforming preventative maintenance and repair in industrial HVAC
  • 1 year or more of preforming preventative maintenance and repair in industrial air handlers, boilers or chillers
  • 1 year or more experince working with Metasys (building automation system)

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance and repair of building systems, including basic electrical, lighting, HVAC, boilers, plumbing, and life safety systems
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with established safety procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility, grounds, and equipment.
  • Complete assigned monthly preventive maintenance tasks and respond to reactive work orders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records, including daily logs, timesheets, and routine and non-routine maintenance records.
  • Assist with miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall, carpentry, fixture installation, and equipment relocation.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs all engine-powered equipment and vehicles.
  • Constructs projects from blueprints or conceptual drawings requiring the operation of cutting, drilling, or shaping tools.
  • Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs all low voltage electrical equipment.
  • Performs all aspects of plumbing assignments.
  • Performs complex carpentry assignments.
  • Accurately documents corrective and preventive maintenance actions in facility monitoring systems as well as on work orders.
  • Interact professionally with facility staff in planning corrective actions.
  • Procure materials for assignments.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
