Responsible for participating in the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and control systems across all sites. Responsibilities will include the following, but are not limited to: Engineering - Hands on maintenance of the Museum’s facilities, mechanical systems and related operations Monitor and ensure the proper operation of all facilities’ mechanical and electrical systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, humidity and temperature control, power and light, refrigeration, steam, sanitation, as well as all utilities Perform and electronically record daily building rounds, including, but not limited to, regularly inspecting the buildings and grounds, building systems, and equipment to determine the need for corrective maintenance Perform assigned scheduled preventative maintenance Accurately and thoroughly complete paperwork and electronic documentation as assigned including periodic reports and maintenance records Maintain orderliness and cleanliness in all facilities areas Maintain a clean and orderly shop space including all toolboxes and spare parts inventory Requisition materials, supplies, parts, and tools as needed Maintain procedures manual for daily operations Compile and maintain electronic service logs Work with building BAS systems Test and ensure functionality of building fire life systems Other Duties – Contribute to an institutional focus of delivering exceptional, welcoming, and inclusive customer service—creating positive, meaningful experiences for all visitors, every time Participate in institutional learning opportunities to grow our collective understanding and integration of antiracism, cultural competency, and equity values into SAM’s work
