An experienced Building Envelope Technical Designer provides quality production of building enclosure designs within the scope of received instructions and BEAM standards in addition to supporting and cross training with field staff as assigned and required. Your Impact: Produce construction documents as instructed. Provide support to other production designers or managers. Provide real time quality assurance of his/her own work. Actively seeks assistance when needed. Complete full sets of drawings with little guidance. Comprehend a full understanding of building enclosure systems. Articulate the understanding of the BEAM project life cycle. Conduct site visits and provide site visit reports to appropriate team members. Assist with guiding and training junior level designers as directed and requested.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment juggling multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Strong willingness to receive and follow directions.
  • Full understanding of building enclosure systems and industry standards.
  • Learn/show understanding of building envelope project related specifications and submittals.
  • Demonstrate understanding of field operations.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT, and Bluebeam.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years of experience drafting construction documents for an architectural, engineering, or building envelope consulting firm.
  • Training certificate from college or Autodesk for AutoCAD, REVIT, and BIM 360.
  • 2-4 years of experience working with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and REVIT.
  • Advanced proficiency level of BIM360
  • Strong math, geometry, and problem-solving skills.
  • Roofing and/or waterproofing knowledge.

Responsibilities
