About The Position

ECS is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Building Enclosure Associate III to join our Pacific Facilities team in Irvine, CA. In this role, you'll work on projects involving inspections, testing, assessments, and commissioning of building enclosures for existing structures. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality consulting solutions to a diverse range of facilities and clients. Conduct testing and consulting services for the built environment, including property condition assessments, specialized testing, building envelope consulting, forensic investigation analysis, and repair design, among other facilities-related services. Management of projects including but not limited to: Inspections of Building Enclosures Building Enclosure Testing Building Enclosure Assessments Air Leakage Testing Construction Quality Assurance Observations Roofing Assessments Design Specification Review Field Performance Testing Building Enclosure Commissioning Consulting Perform and/or lead field investigations, analysis, calculations, and recommendations, design, and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided Demonstrate responsibility, organization, reliability, time management, and self-motivation Collaborate and interact with senior staff members and clients on a variety of projects Prepare investigation reports, report sketches, repair documents, addenda, change orders, and other work products Maintain and develop a client database Manage project budgets and prepare invoices Mentor and support the development of other staff Promote a safe workplace and ensure proper use of PPE Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; B.Arch or M.Arch accredited by National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) or BS in Engineering, Building Science, or related degree from an ABET accredited college/university preferred
  • 2-5+ years of relevant building facilities enclosure consulting experience required
  • In lieu of education, 4 years of experience as ECS Facilities Associate II, or equivalent combination of experience, certification, and education required
  • Knowledge of building codes, materials, field investigation methods, and scientific principles as they relate to building enclosure performance
  • Understanding of technical testing and evaluation process, with the ability to independently conduct construction field services.
  • Strong marketing and business development skills
  • Confident project management skills, including proposal development, budget management, and client interaction
  • Proven history of mentoring staff
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computers and MS Office applications, with the ability to quickly learn new software and digital tools. Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams, and collaborate with clients, peers, and subordinates
