AECOM is seeking a Building Efficiency Technical Lead to join our National Energy Transition Team. This highly-collaborative, multi-disciplinary team provides building assessment and advisory services to clients striving to realize more efficient, lower cost, more sustainable, and more resilient operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team in the development of building, campus, and portfolio-wide building energy assessments and decarbonization strategies. The role is primarily technical in nature, with a focus on building systems feasibility analysis and concept design. The types of strategies being assessed range from control optimization to building retrofits to centralized thermal energy systems and microgrids. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team Lead on-site energy audits with a team of engineers for large portfolio of clients Lead a team in the development of building and portfolio-level energy strategies including, conservation and efficiency, controls optimization, building electrification, district energy, onsite energy generation and storage, and microgrids. Technical assessment of strategies using a combination of modeling, software, and the development of customized analysis tools. Preparing and presenting results and recommendations, in report or presentation format, to clients, design teams and internal teams. Support of proposal efforts through the development of technical approach and associated fees. Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise. Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings The varied nature of our work must be reflected in our team's expertise and skills; as such we seek applicants with a solid understanding of the principles of high performance building design for both buildings and campus- or campus-level energy infrastructure, and power generation. A high-level working knowledge of these systems and a propensity for creative problem-solving is therefore critical. The ability to develop and communicate ideas clearly will be seen as a significant strength in any potential candidate.
