About The Position

We are one of the largest mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors in Indiana and among the preeminent specialty contractors in the nation. We specialize in a full range of new and retrofit construction for industrial, food processing, commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and bio-fuel projects. Shambaugh & Son is looking for a Building ConstructionSuperintendent to work with our nationally recognized Design-Build team assisting with the assembly of designs, estimates and ultimate construction of entire food manufacturing facilities constructed across the United States. #shambaugh #LI-DF #LI-Onsite

Requirements

  • Experience in the design and construction of food manufacturing and cold box (refrigerated) buildings is preferred, but not essential
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials and regulations
  • Ability to liaise with professionals from other disciplines
  • Experience with subcontractor management and project management
  • Good communications skills and ability to communicate with customers on remote sites
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience utilizing Autodesk applications (AutoCad, Revit, Navisworks) and Bluebeam are preferred
  • Three-dimensional conceptual and probelm solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physically able to perform construction job site visits and travel nationally as needed.
  • Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

  • Review ACS schedules and drawings to identify coordination and constructability issues.
  • Verify existing site conditions and ensure demolition and temporary work are accurately reflected in project documents.
  • Lead ACS coordination with subcontractors, participate in owner/coordination meetings, and support early project planning.
  • Oversee ACS subcontractor performance, safety compliance, and mock‑ups; enforce quality standards and approved materials.
  • Manage ACS RFIs, submittals, change orders, and documentation in Procore.
  • Coordinate layout activities with surveyors and address inspection deficiencies.
  • Conduct site walks with consultants and safety teams to ensure safe, compliant, and timely progress.
  • Other duties as assigned.
