CAI is seeking Building Commissioning Engineer Interns to support project teams during the construction and startup phases of major facilities. This internship provides exposure to the commissioning process, where interns will help ensure mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and control systems are installed, tested, and operating according to design specifications and safety standards. Interns will work with engineers, project managers, technicians, and contractors while learning how complex building systems are tested and validated before being turned over to clients. Key Responsibilities Support commissioning engineers with inspections, system testing, and documentation. Assist with development of commissioning plans, testing procedures, and schedules. Help create and review pre-functional checklists and functional performance test protocols. Participate in equipment inspections, facility walkdowns, and system verification. Support review of mechanical, electrical, and control system designs and technical drawings. Assist with functional performance testing to confirm system operation meets design intent. Help document commissioning activities, test results, and project reports. Support coordination with contractors, technicians, and project stakeholders during testing activities. Assist the project manager with tracking commissioning activities and deliverables. Maintain strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance during project activities.
