About The Position

Based in our Fargo or Alexandria offices, we are seeking a Building Automation Technician – Level 3 to join our team. The Building Automation Technician – Level 3 (System Commissioning Lead) validates that multiple systems operate together to meet design intent, owner requirements, comfort, and energy performance goals. This role owns system performance and owner readiness. Building Automation Technician – Level 3 is also a resource for commissioning and validating a new building automation system, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to service calls. Requirements

  • 6–10 years BAS or commissioning experience
  • Demonstrated system-level leadership
  • Engineering or advanced technical background preferred
  • Deep HVAC systems and control knowledge
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to interpret and challenge design intent
  • Proficiency in trend analysis and optimization

Responsibilities

  • Leads system-level testing and ensures building automation systems operate efficiently and reliably.
  • Analyzes trends, resolves control conflicts, optimizes control strategies, and validates alarm and graphics functionality.
  • Coordinates with engineers, owners, and contractors, manages commissioning issues, and supports operator training and commissioning sign-off.
  • Travels to project sites for start-up, integration, and training, performs troubleshooting and preventive maintenance, and maintains advanced product knowledge.
  • Provides technical guidance and training for team members, salespeople, and engineers, helping ensure high-quality system performance and customer satisfaction.
