About The Position

The City of St. Peters is seeking a Building Attendant Supervisor to lead daily operations at Rec-Plex North and Rec-Plex South. This role oversees Building Attendant staff, coordinates schedules and work assignments, and helps ensure the facilities are clean, safe, and ready for community use. The Building Attendant Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining high standards for facility appearance, supporting events and programs, and keeping operations running smoothly year-round. Normal Shift: Monday-Friday; 8:00am- 4:30pm

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
  • High School graduate or GED certificate and five (5) years' experience in janitorial, custodial or environmental services.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds.
  • Completion of City Supervisory Course or obtain within one (1) year.
  • Basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and database computer application programs.

  • Considerable skill in planning and organizing jobs and work schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general supervision of Building Attendant staff, including orientation, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Make recommendations concerning hiring and terminations.
  • Schedule and coordinate staff work activities to meet operational, and facility needs.
  • Assist in budget preparation; monitor work activities and purchases to ensure compliance with approved budgets; and prepare related documentation.
  • Assist in developing and determining administrative policies, regulatory actions, and capital purchases.
  • Monitor and ensure the safety of the work unit and compliance with City safety standards.
  • Review and respond to customer and resident inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
  • Establish preventive maintenance schedules and recommend priorities for facility cleaning and maintenance.
  • Regularly inspect City facilities to ensure they are properly maintained and safe for public use.
  • Supervise and ensure accurate maintenance of work unit records and files.
  • Supervise light maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
