By joining our Department of Rural and Municipal Aid as a Budget Specialist II in Franklin County, you’ll have the opportunity to assist Departmental Cabinet management in the formulation and execution of the statewide Rural Roads budget. Develops budget requests for Rural Roads, submits budget requests for review approval, execute approved contractual budgets for rural secondary, county road aid, & municipal road aid Programs.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of professional experience in budget administration, financial analysis and/or forecasting, statistical analysis, accounting, financial auditing, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in budget administration, financial analysis and/or forecasting, statistics, accounting, financial auditing, planning, or a related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Processes budget documents in eMars system for Programs’ projects; sets up payments allocated for expenditures phases of project, requests for additional funding, closes project accounts
  • Submits budgetary requests to increase or shift funding for all statewide Rural Road funding functions.
  • Develops and manages contracts for with City, County and State officials for the procurement of material and contract services.
  • Monitors and records budgetary tracking functions for statewide Rural Road programs functional areas.
  • Provides financial budgetary data and budgetary status for Programs' projects to Department management.
