LC State invites applications for the position of Budget Analyst. Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $57,000 - $62,000 Degree Requirement: Bachelor's degree in accounting, bookkeeping, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university. Required Qualifications: Experience in finance and/or budgeting. Excellent ability to organize, plan, and manage complex projects along with a proven ability to work independently and under pressure. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI). Involvement in an environment that requires maintaining confidentiality of information. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in accounting, finance, or equivalent. Experience in an institution of higher education. Working knowledge of Ellucian Colleague Finance module. Experience analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives, and developing recommendations for management/administrators. Responsibilities: Establish the processes for development of the budget and assure those processes are carried out in a timely manner. Assist in preparation of tentative, interim, and final budget submissions for the State within established guidelines; review expenditures for programs to ensure proper budget compliance, with specialization in Gen Ed (Fund 10) and CTE (Fund 12). Responsibility for general accounting, including assisting with the institutional budget process, budget to actual analysis, account reconciliation review and journal entry preparation. Foundation financial statement preparation and analysis. Assist with review of Foundation payroll deduction worksheet. Assist in the formulation and review of internal controls, policy guidelines, and internal forms. Ensure that the College complies with state and federal policies and regulations. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
