About The Position

The Budget Analyst analyzes financial information, prepares budgets and responds to reporting as required by all entities and funding sources.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required.
  • Strong advanced accounting skills.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Sensibility in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes and abilities.
  • Possess the ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgement.
  • Demonstrate oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in the use of agency computers systems and software as required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Possess practical and creative problem solving skills.
  • 1-3 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and completion of budgets across the Wingspan Care Group enterprise and its funding sources.
  • Works with Director of Finance in preparing agency budgets for presentation to CFO.
  • Coordinates efforts with senior managers and supervisors responsible for specific divisional and service area budgets.
  • Works directly with the Division Managers to develop budgets in response to funding requests and program opportunities.
  • Coordinates with other accounting staff to assure that cost allocation methodology is consistent between budgets and actual data.
  • Analyze past, present and estimated future financial performance of revenue and expenditures in the budget preparation.
  • Develops and implements systematic process improvements to the budgeting function.
  • Responds to all budget reporting requirements, meeting submission deadlines as well as actual to budget reporting as required by external and internal users and funding sources.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the budget within Great Plains for all funds and companies of Wingspan.
  • Prepares periodic actual reporting.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation of the budgeting process and support.
  • Performs general accounting functions as needed or assigned.
  • Assist departmental staff with other financial matters as requested or needed.
  • Attends staff meetings and on-going training.
  • Respects and hold in confidence all information obtained during budget preparation and handles documents in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
