About The Position

Unleash your potential and make an impact! This position will serve as the assistant federal program within the Resources Branch of Construction and Facilities Management Office (CFMO). Will prepare, develop, and administer the CFMO budget for the National Guard. Will provide program direction, consultancy, problem resolution, and staff administration: Requires diverse knowledge and understanding of a variety of programs represented by the National guard and ability to build effective working relationships with other department heads and government officials. Primarily manages state budget and accounting in coordination with DPS. This position is supervised by the Budget Manager within the Resource Management section of CFMO. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, retirement, and health insurance. DPS uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act with the most qualified individuals. The Minimum Education and Experience (E&E) is REQUIRED to qualify for this position. Management Preferences, including Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs), are not required but may be used to determine the pool of most qualified applicants. Managers may also choose to interview/select applicants who demonstrate Management Preferences. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business administration, public administration, accounting, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience Analyzing and Auditing fiscal documents for accuracy.
  • Demostrated experience with, and understanding of, General Accepted Accounting Priciples (GAAP).
  • Experience working with budget or accounting, regulations, policies, guidelines, and processes either Federal or State.
