About The Position

This position requires independent and complex work assisting management in the coordination of budget matters, accounting and financial management functions within the FWC Division of Law Enforcement’s Budget Section. The incumbent of this position assists with managing the Division’s budget. Provides consultation and assistance to Division Managers in the development and implementation of short- and long-range plans relating to budget management. Assists in developing solutions to problems related to fiscal administration and budgetary controls. Works with other Divisions on agency budget issues. Oversee the preparation of bid information that includes bid specifications, invitations to bid, requests for proposals, invitations to negotiate and other related methods of procurement. Manages and Oversees the Division’s Contracts and Grant Administrator. Responsible for preparing and routing of revenue contracts and grant applications. Reviews all division contracts and leases and prepares invoices for revenue contracts and other related billings. Acts as a statewide advanced buyer for p-card purchases and ensures transactions are properly procured, documentation received and charges processed for payment. Works with the Finance and Budget Office to ensure the procurement needs of the division are met and that payments can be made timely when received. Analyzes division procurement practices and makes recommendations on ways to improve the procurement needs within the division. Analyzes the financial reports to ensure expenditures and revenues are properly recorded for the division. Acts as the Division’s FEMA liaison to the Finance and Budget Office and works on the preparation, reporting, review and oversight of FEMA related projects. Also provides administrative support to non-FEMA related missions, events, and other related activities. Conduct management and oversight of all financial related information tied to assigned projects. Supervises, plans workloads, work flows, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization with employees to ensure the work needs are met. Directs the work of employees to ensure the best use of time and resources. Communicates on a regular basis with employees and supervision keeping them informed of changes that occur. Provides training to employees in methods for performing an effective and efficient job. Evaluates employees through establishing criteria and responsibilities and meeting regularly with employees to ensure the established criteria are met. Performs other related work as required.
