About The Position

This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to producers caring for the company's birds regarding their proper care and comfort. This includes advising on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation. The role involves visiting farms to document bird comfort, manage flock and equipment settings, monitor bird health, and provide remedies. It also includes monitoring feed consumption, ordering feed, pulling blood and fat samples, coordinating chick placements, and assisting with catch schedules. The advisor ensures communication among Hatchery, Feedmill, and Livehaul departments regarding contract farms, compliance with production contracts to optimize flock quality and minimize costs, and adherence to all USDA and other government regulations regarding poultry handling. The position also involves working with the Broiler and Breeder Departments in coordinating weekly chick placements and performing other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of related work experience
  • Elementary computer skills such as checking electronic mail, entering data into document templates, or creating simple queries
  • Ability to travel 1 to 5 trips per year
  • Must not own, possess, or maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl
  • Applicant must reside in the United States
  • Sponsorship is not offered for this position
