About The Position

Join the team at Flix Brewhouse, the first-ever cinema brewery in America, where we blend the love of film with the joy of craft beer and delicious food! As a Brewer at Flix Brewhouse, you will have the opportunity to support our Lead Brewer in the production of award-winning craft beer, while maintaining the highest quality standards. Your responsibilities will include all aspects of the brewing process, including milling/mashing, fermentation, cellaring, carbonation, yeast management, and dispensing. Job Description: The Brewer provides direct support to our Lead Brewer as it relates to production of in house beers, quality assurance, beer education, and craft beer-related event facilitation. Job Purpose: To ensure guest satisfaction is delivered through quality craft beer production.

Requirements

  • Candidate must work well independently and with others.
  • Candidate must have a true passion for the art of brewing.
  • Candidate must work with and assist Lead Brewer as needed with all brewing related duties.
  • Candidate must be able to work 30-40 hours per week as needed.
  • Candidate must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours a day, as needed.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • To be successful in this role, you should be certified in food handling and alcohol service requirements, and have at least 3 years of experience working in a brewery. You should also have a strong understanding of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • A candidate with mechanical inclination and general understanding of fluid dynamics is highly preferred.
  • 1-2 years of brewing experience in a brewpub or production environment preferred, but not required.
  • Cicerone® Certified Beer Server or higher certification preferred.
  • Preferably, you will be a Cicerone Certified Beer Server, and a graduation from an accredited MBAA course is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • All aspects of beer production including: milling/mashing in, fermentation, cellaring, carbonation, yeast management and dispensing.
  • Cleaning and sanitation of all equipment.
  • Monthly inventory of all ingredients, product and chemicals.
  • Develop new recipes in conjunction with the Lead Brewer.
  • Communicate new beer offerings with management staff.
  • Work with Director of Learning and Team Member Development to communicate new offerings to hourly staff members through e-learning and online communication platforms.
  • Facilitate brewery tours as needed.
  • Assist in set up and facilitation of beer festivals.
  • Assist in crowler sales at bar on Fridays
  • Assist with/speak at BrewFests once a month
