We are looking for a physician assistant to join our Breast Surgery team at Medstar Washington Hospital Center (primary site), as well as Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital Center and MedStar Medical Center - Lafayette. Our exceptional Breast surgeons, as well as advanced practice providers, treat a wide range of patients with breast cancer as well as breast disease and patients at high risk for breast cancer. Using a multidisciplinary approach, we partner with colleagues from disciplines including medical oncology, radiation oncology, rehabilitation, and imaging as well as dietitians, and social work to develop highly individualized care plans that treat the whole patient. This approach provides patients with high-quality care that is unmatched in our service area. The APP in this role will be working with our surgeon to provide early diagnostic care, pre-op education, post-op care and long term follow up care to our Breast Surgery program. The responsibilities of this individual will be in the outpatient setting, supporting the surgeon as well as establishing their own clinic to see patients at high-risk for breast cancer, as well as for post-op care and follow-up visits. The role would also require performing procedures in the office, such as aspirations, punch biopsies and I&D for example. The schedule for this role will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm excluding holidays or weekends. There is a weekly meeting that begins at 7:30 am, and additional meetings the take place four-five times a year that begin at 7 am. New grads are welcome to apply!

Requirements

  • Completion and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • CPR certification required

  • Breast surgery or breast health experience preferred but not required.
