About The Position

A breakfast cook prepares morning meals such as eggs, pancakes, and meats in various establishments like restaurants, hotels, or diners. The role emphasizes speed and consistency, especially during early morning rushes. Key responsibilities include following recipes, ensuring food safety, setting up and maintaining cooking stations, and cleaning. The cook must be able to work quickly, manage inventory, and typically starts shifts very early in the morning.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods, work early mornings, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency in using standard kitchen equipment (grills, fryers, stovetops).
  • Strong communication, positive attitude, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare breakfast items (eggs to order, meats, pancakes, waffles, omelets) according to recipes and station standards.
  • Set up, maintain, and break down the cooking line, ensuring all equipment is clean and sanitized.
  • Adhere to health regulations, including proper food storage (labeling/dating), temperature controls, and cleanliness.
  • Manage high-volume orders during peak times, ensuring quick, accurate, and high-quality food delivery.
  • Monitor stock, assist with inventory, and report shortages to the chef.
