About The Position

Moon River Ranch is a destination resort rooted in authenticity, hospitality, and a strong sense of place. The resort features a standalone restaurant alongside banquet and private event dining supporting weddings, retreats, and seasonal gatherings. Our culinary program celebrates Americana cuisine, regional storytelling, and ingredient-driven cooking in a refined yet approachable ranch setting. As a startup kitchen, we are building our culinary culture from the ground up and are seeking dependable, detail-oriented breakfast cooks who take pride in starting each guest’s day with a memorable dining experience. The Breakfast Cook is responsible for executing all morning food service, including breakfast and brunch offerings, with consistency, efficiency, and care. This role is ideal for cooks who enjoy early-morning service, value organization and timing, and understand the importance of hospitality at the start of the guest experience. The Breakfast Cook supports both a-la-carte service and select morning banquet or event functions.

Requirements

  • Previous breakfast or line cook experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of breakfast techniques, timing, and station management
  • Ability to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook breakfast and brunch menu items according to established recipes and standards
  • Execute egg cookery, breakfast proteins, griddle items, baked goods, and breakfast sides with consistency
  • Maintain proper cooking techniques, seasoning, and presentation
  • Set up, maintain, and break down breakfast stations efficiently
  • Open the kitchen for breakfast service and ensure readiness for service
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
  • Properly store, label, and rotate food products
  • Assist with prep for lunch or banquet service as needed
  • Work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chefs, and fellow cooks
  • Communicate clearly during service to ensure smooth execution
  • Maintain a calm, professional demeanor during busy morning periods
  • Support a positive and collaborative kitchen culture
