About The Position

Responsible for the setting, clearing and resetting of tables, keeping dining room clean and serving water and bread (if applicable) to the guest as soon as they are seated. Assist the food server in servicing all guests.

Requirements

  • Some High School education or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Previous full-service restaurant experience preferred.
  • Display a friendly “team player” attitude.
  • Able to read and follow both written and verbal communication in English.
  • Communicate well and maintain good interpersonal relations with co-workers and guests.
  • Work closely with others.
  • Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time with little to no sitting.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and twist.
  • Must be able to push, pull and lift up to fifty (50) pounds with or without an accommodation.
  • Able to lift and carry tables, chairs, glassware, dishware, supplies, glass racks, silverware, linen, loaded bus trays.
  • Able to pull and push loaded dish racks.
  • Operate essential equipment.
  • Extensive mobility within workstation and between work site, storage and laundry areas.
  • Set tables according to established standards.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment to meet guest needs.
  • Report in proper uniform.
  • Must be in compliance with state or local laws and resort policies pertaining to the selling of alcoholic beverages, (i.e., T.I.P.S. Training, Alcohol Awareness Training, Responsible Vendors Training, Food Handler’s, etc.). Must complete food handler training and alcohol awareness training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Know your work schedule and follow it with a high degree of reliability.
  • Interact with guests, patrons, clients, vendors, and co-workers in a professional and customer service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
  • Perform your job according to standard operating procedures.
  • Read, understand and follow all policies, procedures and practices as stated in the Employee Handbook.
  • Implement resort safety and emergency policies and procedures (i.e. evacuation, first aid, etc.) to include removing all safety hazards, following OSHA Hazcom program and safe lifting techniques.
  • Utilize protective equipment, when applicable.
  • Promptly report accidents, injuries, property damage or loss to supervisor.
  • Promptly report substandard (unsafe) conditions to supervisor.
  • Keep accurate communication flowing freely among all hotel departments.
  • Inform management promptly of any work-related problems or guest complaints.
  • Maintain professional, amicable relationships with all resort departments, managers, and staff, as well as vendors, and community and professional contacts.
  • Promote excellent guest service throughout the resort by demonstrating friendly, courteous and helpful attitudes toward all guests.
  • Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.
  • Train and supervise other employees as directed by management.
  • Continue to learn and grow in your position.
  • Perform any reasonable request as assigned or directed by management.
  • Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
  • Arrange for reasonable accommodations for person(s) with disabilities.
  • Assist person(s) with a disability.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, local laws and ordinances as they apply to the resort’s, guests and employees.
  • Set tables in restaurant area and patio as required.
  • Remove soiled dishes from table.
  • Clean tables and dust chairs.
  • Arrange tables according to standard.
  • Assist servers with pre-meal set-up.
  • Stock restaurant buffets.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Maintain organized china cabinet.
  • Maintain back up supply of silverware and glassware.
  • Retrieve clean linen and deliver soiled linen.
  • Stock supplies.
  • Perform side work.
  • Respond to guest requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Deliver or “run” food orders to patrons (if needed)
  • Fill and refill water glasses as well as drinks.
