About The Position

Circuit Breaker Sales LLC (CBS) supplies and services power distribution equipment for commercial, industrial, municipal, and utility customers across the Southwest and West. We stock and service circuit breakers, switchgear, motor control, transformers, and related parts. This role is hands on work in our breaker shop, focused on safely disassembling, repairing, reconditioning, testing, and documenting breaker work so equipment ships on time and performs to spec.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass E Verify or other required work eligibility screening
  • Ability to pass a background check with no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions within the past 5 years
  • Two years of relevant electrical and mechanical experience
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with your own tools
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints, drawings, or sketches
  • Ability and willingness to read and learn from OEM manuals and technical literature
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits safely and perform repairs
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform hands on shop work
  • Strong attention to detail, a team focused mindset, and a positive attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating shop machinery
  • Prior breaker, switchgear, or power apparatus repair experience
  • Mentoring or lead experience in a shop environment

Responsibilities

  • Clean and prepare electrical parts and assemblies
  • Disassemble and reassemble circuit breakers with proper documentation
  • Review the breaker evaluation and work order, then complete the requested scope
  • Work safely with stored energy mechanisms and follow lockout tagout practices
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues, make repairs, and perform adjustments per OEM guidance
  • Follow plating room instructions and cold plate current carrying parts when assigned
  • Read schematics, point to point wiring diagrams, and one line diagrams
  • Test and troubleshoot wiring and electrical components
  • Electrically operate breakers from schematics, including charge, close, and trip functions
  • Use test equipment such as insulation resistance testing and contact resistance testing per process
  • Recondition electrical components such as auxiliary switches, motors, relays, and coils
  • Verify electrical parts function correctly before installation and final assembly
  • Follow the work order scope and ensure critical job details are captured correctly
  • Take ownership of your jobs so they are completed safely, accurately, and on time
  • Keep your work area clean, organized, and inspection ready
  • Support other departments during rush work, emergencies, PTO coverage, or staffing gaps
  • Mentor teammates when asked and share knowledge to strengthen the department
