About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Break-Fix Engineer to join our technical support and engineering team. This role focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving software and system issues across the Ziosk solution using skills in Android (C++, Kotlin, React Native), and Windows / Cloud (.Net C#). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in debugging complex systems and a passion for solving challenging technical problems in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering or technical support roles.
  • Proficiency in C++, C#, Kotlin, and Android development.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across multiple platforms.
  • Experience with tools such as Visual Studio and Android Studio.
  • Familiarity with mobile and desktop application architectures.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate directly with customers and non-technical team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Point of Sale (POS) solutions, especially in hospitality environments.
  • Familiarity with EMV Payments and payment processing systems.
  • Exposure to Digital Content Management platforms and workflows.
  • Experience with embedded systems or hardware integration.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and backend services.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ticketing systems (e.g., Jira).

Responsibilities

  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve software defects in production and development environments.
  • Debug and fix issues in applications built with C++, Kotlin, React Native, and C#.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement long-term fixes and improvements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of issues, resolutions, and preventive measures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external clients.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality and maintainability.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Work with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines to deploy fixes efficiently.
