About The Position

The AM Baker is responsible for the scaling, production, baking, and assembling of doughs, quick breads, cookies, pastries, etc., according to our recipes, procedures, quality expectations, and speed levels.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial bakery or similar environment, with a strong focus on artisanal baking techniques.
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality baked goods consistently.
  • Ability to work early morning shifts and a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a positive attitude.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (bags/boxes) and carry short distances.
  • Able to stand and walk during 8-10 hour shifts.
  • Able to work closely with other staff at a fast pace, under pressure, maintaining quality standards, and often in confined areas.
  • Able to work at approximately 36-inch table/stove and reach in approximately 36 inches.
  • Able to be flexible with scheduling (must be available to work weekends and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food according to recipes, procedures, and standards within allowable time guidelines.
  • Pay close attention to detail when scaling ingredients and following recipes.
  • Maintain assigned par levels of food items.
  • Maintain, stock, restock, clean, and organize the work area.
  • Complete opening, side, and closing duties in a timely manner following established standard operating procedures.
  • Safely operate and maintain cleanliness of equipment.
  • Complete and pass required training classes and modules – both initial and ongoing.
  • Execute service and hospitality in accordance with Hive Bakery & Cafe standards.
  • Continuously be aware of special events, menu changes, and special orders as necessary.
  • Follow sanitation and safety standards, practicing proper and safe food handling, storage, receiving, stocking, and rotating procedures.
  • Respond appropriately to other assigned duties from the management team.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain company confidentiality and follow all company policies as outlined in the company handbook.
  • Prepare food according to recipes, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain a clean uniform and professional appearance.
  • Assist in keeping the restaurant clean and safe for guests and team members.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and positive, effective communication skills.
  • Ensure all cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards are maintained.
