About The Position

The Brazer/Insulator position is for individuals with experience in brazing, pipe fitting, and HVAC systems, who can work with minimal supervision and take on a more independent role. This role is responsible for tasks like brazing, pipe sizing, and creating 45 and 90-degree fittings, as well as assisting with more complex tasks such as training Level 1 technicians. Brazer/Insulator 2’s will also help with basic welding, interpreting blueprints, and performing piping tasks with accuracy. This position requires strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to follow safety protocols.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical school certification or coursework in HVAC, plumbing, or a related field is a plus but not required.
• Intermediate knowledge of brazing, pipe fitting, and HVAC systems is an advantage.
• Ability to learn technical skills under supervision.
• Understands safety protocols in a workshop or field environment.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and technical drawings with guidance.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to physically meet the following: o Stand continuously, 8+ hours o Kneel, crouch occasionally o Climb Ladder occasionally o Lift from floor to waist occasionally o Lift from waist to shoulder occasionally o Lift overhead occasionally o Lift 0 – 25lbs frequently o Lift 25 – 50lbs occasionally o Lift 50 – 75lbs occasionally

Responsibilities

• Learns and adheres to all safety standards.
• Demonstrates basic brazing skills under without supervision.
• Understands copper pipe sizing with without supervision.
• Able to create 45 and 90-degree fittings and “T” fittings with minimal to no supervision.
• Interprets and follows blueprints with minimal guidance from supervision.
• Performs piping tasks with minimal supervision with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Addes pipe supports and clamps accurately without supervision.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Willingly assists other departments as needed, maintains a flexible mindset.
• All other duties assigned.
