We are looking for a brazer to assist in the production of refrigerated display cases. Brazers join pieces of metal together by heating the pieces, placing a solder-like filler substance on the joint and allowing the heated metal to melt the filler and seal the joint.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED.
  • Minimum of six months experience brazing or technical certification in brazing.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure (including whole numbers, fractions and decimals).
  • Experience with soldering or welding.
  • Experience with/working knowledge of refrigerated display cases or HVAC systems.
  • Manufacturing, testing or other hands on experience with refrigeration equipment. Must be able to operate power tools and perform tasks that require fine motor skills.
  • May be required to perform specific tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting or kneeling.
  • Must be able to lift with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis (up to 50 lbs).
  • Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.

Responsibilities

  • Use brazing torch to braze copper to copper, brass, aluminum or other dissimilar metals.
  • Read and comprehend work orders and blueprints; identify part numbers.
  • Braze coil assemblies/packages in accordance with defined standards; ensure product quality meets established standards.
  • Cut metal piping to specified lengths.
  • Preform checks to ensure brazing equipment is in safe and working order; report discrepancies to department leadership.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
