About The Position

Vanguard’s Global Brand team is responsible for defining and telling Vanguard’s story in ways that set them apart, create meaningful emotional connections, and drive action across the business. The Brand Strategy Consultant will join the Global Brand Strategy and Insights team, partnering closely with marketing and business leaders to translate enterprise brand strategy into focused messaging, compelling experiences, and creative inspiration across Vanguard. This role serves as a strategic partner to the Financial Advisor Services (FAS) and Enterprise Client Group (ECG) teams, shaping positioning, messaging, and campaigns, translating insight into action, and extending Vanguard’s brand strategy to drive differentiation and results. The ideal candidate possesses strong strategic thinking and deep curiosity about audiences, competitors, and the market, collaborating closely with senior stakeholders to build trust and translate insight into ideas.

Requirements

  • Minimum eight years of related experience, ideally in brand strategy, marketing, advertising or consulting.
  • Proven experience consulting with senior leaders and navigating complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrates an entrepreneurial mindset, with a strong sense of ownership, proactivity, and comfort navigating ambiguity.
  • Hands‑on experience in business, brand, consumer, or audience analysis.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to distill complexity into concise, actionable narratives.
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills.
  • Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, or equivalent experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial services, advisors, or intermediaries is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted brand strategy advisor to senior leaders across our financial advisor and enterprise client organizations, helping teams solve complex business challenges by connecting enterprise brand strategy, audience insight, and marketing execution in ways that drive results.
  • Stays current on market trends and the competitive landscape as they relate to brand and marketing strategy, bringing perspective that helps partners spot opportunities and stay ahead in the marketplace.
  • Translate research and competitive intelligence into action, distilling complexity into clear implications that help partners make better decisions.
  • Partner with marketing, communications and business teams to shape marketing strategy, positioning, messaging and go-to-market efforts.
  • Collaborate with partners on enterprise and divisional campaigns – ensuring work is insight‑driven, creatively inspiring, and consistent with Vanguard’s brand while remaining relevant to specific audiences and business priorities.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, providing clear perspective, proactive engagement, and thoughtful communication that informs key decisions and drives alignment across partners.
  • Develop and deliver formal and informal training, tools and frameworks that build acumen and capabilities across teams.
  • Proactively identifies, manages, and mitigates risks on marketing activities.
  • Communicates solutions on key issues to management and stakeholders to obtain their input and buy-in as appropriate.
