About The Position

The Brand Strategist at Drexel University plays a vital role in overseeing the university's brand identity across various platforms, including advertising and digital assets. This position is responsible for executing brand positioning campaigns and collaborating with university leadership to enhance Drexel's profile as a leading research institution. The Brand Strategist will work closely with Marketing Communications to develop comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the university's goals for branding, recruitment, and retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 4 years of experience in marketing and advertising, brand strategy, and/or digital strategy.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of market segmentation and integrated communication principles.
  • Experience developing and executing measurable marketing plans.
  • Knowledge of web analytics and campaign media measurement.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Solid presentation skills with articulate verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team or independently.
  • Experience with CRM tools, Content Management Systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and SEO tools.
  • Experience working with advertising and/or media planning/buying agencies.
  • 2 years of experience as an account manager in an agency setting is highly preferred.
  • Experience in managing and leading video and photoshoots.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Drexel national positioning and advertising campaign 'Ambition Can't Wait' and evolve the effort year-over-year.
  • Design new campaigns for the University for positioning, awareness, or special opportunities.
  • Protect, develop, and evolve the Drexel Brand Identity and ensure compliance with branding guidelines across all marketing efforts.
  • Implement new marketing strategies to increase engagement with key constituencies.
  • Collaborate with creative and media services personnel to develop in-house creative for branding campaigns.
  • Manage relationships with marketing agencies and ensure best practices on brand alignment.
  • Oversee a centrally managed Marketing working group to share best practices and governance issues.
  • Set KPIs for awareness and positioning campaigns and optimize results based on data.
  • Develop marketing strategies that connect with underrepresented communities to enhance diversity.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
