About The Position

The Brand & Social Media Engagement Specialist plays a critical role in strengthening engagement with Chevron’s global brands across fuels, lubricants, additives, and base oils. This role sits within Chevron’s Brand & Marketing Effectiveness team and partners closely with Brand Stewards, Corporate Affairs, and Marketing Sector and Execution teams to support brand awareness, engagement, and long‑term brand health through social and digital channels. This position is accountable for operationalizing approved, brand‑led engagement strategies through hands-on content development, community engagement, and performance measurement. The role ensures Chevron’s brands show up consistently, compellingly, and compliantly across priority social platforms while complementing, not duplicating, Corporate Affairs ownership of enterprise reputation and Marketing Execution ownership of campaign delivery. In many cases, this role will work through agency partners and internal teams to guide, shape, and elevate branded social engagement practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in brand engagement, social media, digital communications, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience creating brand‑aligned social media content, both hands‑on and through collaboration with agencies or partners.
  • Experience working with social media analytics and listening tools.
  • Proven ability to drive measurable increases in brand engagement and/or brand health.
  • Experience working in a large, complex organization, preferably within a regulated industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage projects end‑to-end and work effectively across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience translating performance insights into clear actions and recommendations.

  • Experience partnering with corporate affairs, brand stewardship, or reputation management teams.

  • Strong understanding of AI tools and emerging technologies, particularly as applied to social media and content development.
