LOCATION: Hybrid - Sacramento, CA Position Summary The Brand Innovation Manager will lead the development and execution of brand and product strategies that drive growth and strengthen market position. Reporting to the Director of Brand Strategy & Innovation, this role is responsible for guiding new product initiatives from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and business objectives. The Brand Innovation Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, leverage consumer and competitive insights, manage project timelines, and oversee creative and packaging development. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong project management skills, deep analytical capabilities, and a passion for food and innovation.

Requirements

  • BS in Marketing; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in brand management, innovation, or product marketing, preferably in the CPG or food & beverage industry.
  • Hands-on experience with syndicated data tools such as SPINS or Nielsen.
  • Demonstrated experience managing innovation projects from concept through launch.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint Skills
  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; able to craft compelling narratives and decks for internal and external audiences.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Collaborative and adaptable team player with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for food, innovation, and brand-building.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of Brand Strategy & Innovation to develop and evolve brand positioning and product strategy.
  • Partner cross-functionally with the Director of Marketing Communications to shape the brand communication strategy, ensuring alignment across all consumer touchpoints.
  • Lead the end-to-end process for new product innovation, from ideation through launch, including product development, project management, and artwork development.
  • Manage project timelines, cross-functional teams, and milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of new products.
  • Drive consumer and competitive insights to inform brand positioning, innovation pipelines, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Work directly with product developers to brainstorm and develop concepts across categories including oils, grains, and adjacent food categories.
  • Monitor and analyze market and category data (e.g., SPINS, Nielsen) to identify trends, evaluate performance, and recommend portfolio optimizations.
  • Develop compelling sales and retailer presentations to support go-to-market efforts and product pitches.
  • Track innovation KPIs and assess the performance of new product launches.
  • Maintain close partnerships with supply chain, regulatory, creative, and external agencies to bring products to market efficiently.
  • Manage creative and packaging development, including writing design briefs, reviewing iterations, and ensuring final delivery aligns with brand strategy.
  • Contribute to the development of annual brand plans and innovation roadmaps.
  • Own and update brand guidelines and ensure internal and external teams maintain consistency across brand expressions.
  • Conduct consumer research and testing to validate concepts and refine strategies.
  • Serve as a brand champion internally and externally, ensuring the brand's voice and identity are represented consistently.
