Brand Design Lead

RevenueCat
1dRemote

About The Position

RevenueCat removes the headaches of building and scaling in‑app subscriptions. Since graduating from YC’s S18 batch we’ve grown into the default monetization platform for mobile: we’re in >40% of newly shipped subscription apps, we process $10B+ in annual purchase volume, and we help everyone from a solo dev in Brazil to the OpenAI mobile team understand and grow their revenue. We’re a remote‑first crew of 120+, spread across 25 countries, and guided by values we actually practice: Customer Obsession, Always Be Shipping, Own It, and Balance. If you want your work to touch hundreds of millions of end‑users (and help the developers behind them get paid), you’ll fit right in. The Role RevenueCat has grown by moving fast, shipping constantly, and prioritizing usefulness over polish. That approach has served us well — our brand is trusted, recognizable, and well loved — but it’s also left us with some rough edges. Today, our design output is high-impact but uneven. Some campaigns, launches, and events feel world-class; others are held together by speed and good intent. We rely on external agencies that are good at following briefs, but slower at developing strong creative concepts from scratch. Our brand system exists, but it’s intentionally flexible — and not always fully defined. At the same time, our ambitions are growing. Flagship moments like App Growth Annual, bigger launches, more experiments, and more surfaces mean we need someone who can bring clarity, taste, and execution speed to an environment that’s still evolving. You’ll often need to choose speed over completeness, and clarity over perfect consistency. Some rough edges, fast experiments, and slightly imperfect executions are part of how we ship — and we want to keep it that way. We’re hiring a Brand Design Lead to help raise the creative bar without slowing us down. This is a hands-on role, not a purely strategic or review-only position. You’ll help guide creative direction and evolve the brand, while also spending a significant portion of your time designing, prototyping, and shipping work yourself. You’ll be the steward of brand consistency without turning RevenueCat into a rigid, corporate brand, building just enough structure to make great work repeatable, while preserving the experimentation and personality that got us here. You’ll work closely with Marketing, Product Marketing, Content, Events, and Leadership, and act as the main point of contact for external design agencies and freelancers. You’ll also help lead the creative direction for RevenueCat’s flagship App Growth Annual conference, shaping everything from campaign visuals to on-the-ground event experiences. If you enjoy seeing your work ship quickly, show up in the wild, and evolve in public, this role is deeply satisfying.

Requirements

  • Figma (non-negotiable)
  • Web & landing page tools (e.g. Webflow, Sanity, or similar)
  • AI-first design workflows for ideation, iteration, and production
  • Motion design and animation tools such as: After Effects Lottie / Bodymovin Rive Framer Motion, Principle, or similar
  • Strong understanding of modern brand systems and digital design principles
  • You thrive in environments where things are moving quickly, not everything is fully systemized, and good judgment matters more than rigid process.
  • You care deeply about craft and impact, move fast without waiting for perfect inputs, and can clearly articulate why your work works — or why it doesn’t.
  • You’re excited by the idea of shaping a brand that’s still evolving, making pragmatic tradeoffs between consistency and experimentation, and leading by example through hands-on execution.
  • We expect you to have strong opinions about design — and to know when to push them, and when to move on.
  • This role won’t be a fit if you need everything neatly defined before you start — some of the job is figuring it out as you go.
  • Have 7+ years of experience in brand or visual design, with experience leading creative work for campaigns, launches, or events
  • Are a hands-on designer who enjoys executing work, not just reviewing or delegating it
  • Can take a project from brief → concept → execution with minimal oversight
  • Have strong taste and a clear point of view, and can articulate why a design works (or doesn’t) and make the case to stakeholders
  • Have hands-on experience designing for the web and can speak to web design best practices (layout systems, responsiveness, accessibility, performance considerations)
  • Have a working understanding of motion design and animation, and know when motion meaningfully enhances brand and storytelling
  • Are AI-first and actively use modern tools to explore ideas, iterate faster, and improve output quality
  • Have experience working with and managing external agencies or freelancers, including knowing when to engage additional creative support
  • Are comfortable balancing execution with light leadership responsibilities, such as creative direction, feedback, and prioritization
  • Can work independently, own initiatives end-to-end, and proactively push projects forward

Nice To Haves

  • Can share portfolio case studies that show your process, not just final assets — including the brief, alternatives considered, constraints you worked within, and how you arrived at your final decisions
  • Have experience designing and shipping complex landing pages or digital experiences end-to-end
