About The Position

Dakota Bodies is hiring Brake Press Operators for Day, Night, and Weekend shifts at their Watertown, SD facility. The company is open to considering individuals new to Brake Press operation or seasoned veterans, as long as they are eager to learn and can lift up to 50 pounds. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour, depending on experience, with a $2.00 per hour differential for night shifts.

Requirements

Experience preferred but will train.
Ability to complete training at the Watertown, SD facility.
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Ability to read blueprints
Ability to read a tape measure
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

Sets stops on machine bed, changes die, and adjusts components, such as ram or power press, when making multiple or successive passes.
Operates power press, power brake, apron brake, swaging machine, foot-powered press, hydraulic press, or arbor press according to specifications.
Installs, aligns, and secures gears, holding fixtures, dies to machine bed, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.
Plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of physical properties of metal.
Inspects workpiece for defects.
Measures workpiece and verifies dimensions and weight, using micrometer, template, straightedge, and scale.
Selects and positions flat, block, radius, or special purpose die sets into ram and bed of machine, using hoist, crane, measuring instruments and hand tools.
