Set-ups include but are not limited to brake presses and lasers to cut, shape, form, and bend metal into specified dimensions and angles.

Requirements

  • 6 months or more of experience working in a manufacturing environment OR High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Perform assigned tasks effectively
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Recognize and react to abnormal operating conditions
  • Use and wear personal protective equipment as required
  • Hear safety alarms and co-workers
  • Perform basic counting tasks
  • Read tape measures, safety manuals, work orders, and blueprints
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and co-workers
  • Identify and understand safety issues
  • Maintain balance while walking and standing on potentially slippery floors
  • Maintain balance while climbing portable steps to retrieve parts
  • Lift and manipulate parts/equipment weighing up to 35 pounds
  • Operate overhead hoists to assist with heavy lifting
  • Tolerate constant standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Use both hands for tool and machine operation
  • Safely operate and access heavy equipment
  • Remember task sequences and safety constraints

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating fabrication machines
  • Experience using measuring devices including tape measures, height gauges, calipers, and protractors
  • Experience using various small and pneumatic hand tools
  • Ability to read blueprints

Responsibilities

  • Read job orders and/or blueprints for specifications such as material type, stock size, and dimensions
  • Operate a variety of machines and equipment
  • Load and unload materials into machines and equipment
  • Obtain and transfer stock to machines, operating a forklift when necessary
  • Start machines and observe operations
  • Measure work for conformance to specifications
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Maintain a positive working attitude and environment
  • Mentor and train new team members to set them up for success
  • Follow designated procedures for preventative and scheduled machine maintenance
  • Sort and tag parts for routing
  • Perform quality inspections of products
  • Regular attendance required
