About The Position

Sparta High School invites candidates to apply for the position of Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach for the 26-27 school year. Ideal candidates must have successful coaching experience–preferably at the varsity level–with a proven ability to teach basketball techniques and strategies to student-athletes at all levels of development. The Varsity Boys Basketball Coach supports and provides assistance in the direction for the 7-12 boys basketball program under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director.

Requirements

• Knowledge of basketball strategies and techniques
• Ability to work with other coaches and staff in a collaborative way
• Well organized
• Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Builds great relationships with student-athletes

Nice To Haves

• Successful varsity level coaching experience preferred
• Head coaching experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred

Responsibilities

• Supports and provides assistance in the direction for the 7-12 boys basketball program under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director.
• Must attend all scheduled games and practices.
• Off season work may be requested.
