About The Position

Penn State York seeks a detail-oriented and customer service-focused individual to serve as part-time Box Office Reservationist for the Pullo Family Center for Performing Arts. The Reservationist is a front-line ambassador for the Pullo Center, serving as the primary point of contact for patrons, and delivering exceptional customer experiences through the ticket purchasing and event attendance journey. This role is responsible for driving ticket sales, staffing the Box Office during performances, and ensuring delivery that reflects the Pullo’s commitment to excellence. As a vital member of the Pullo team, the Box Office Reservationist creates meaningful connections with diverse audiences, resolves inquiries with professionalism and efficiency, and contributes to both individual and team performance objectives. This role plays an essential role in building patron loyalty and enhancing the overall customer experience through outstanding service at every interaction. The Box Office Reservationist will typically work 10-15 hours per week, with a basic schedule determined by the employee and supervisor; however, there will need to be some flexibility when events and responsibilities require evening and weekend hours for events and performances. In-person presence is an essential function of this role. The person in this role must be an excellent communicator, self-motivated and detail-oriented team player, willing to work collaboratively with departments across the venue, as well as throughout the community. Requirements

  • Must be detail-oriented, have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
  • Professional demeanor with a strong sense of judgement, discretion and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 platform and internet applications
  • Ability to initiate and build relationships with patrons and interact via in-person and on the phone.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
  • A positive outlook, tempered with a sense of humor, and a commitment to representing Penn State and the Pullo Center within the community.
  • A high school diploma is required

Nice To Haves

  • two years of customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting customers with purchase decisions and requests both in-person and over the phone.
  • Processing phone and in-person orders using the Ticketmaster sales platform, collecting complete and accurate data from customers.
  • Maintaining knowledge of all events and performances on the Pullo schedule and accurately communicating the information to patrons.
  • Understanding and staying current with purchasing policies and accurately communicating this information to patrons as needed.
  • Resolving customer concerns, requests and/or complaints in a timely, courteous and informed manner with guidance from Director and Operations Specialist.
  • Assisting with incoming and outgoing customer calls.
  • Working regular weekly shifts, including days, weekends and evenings, as assigned.
  • Provide feedback regarding customer entertainment preferences and purchasing habits.
