About The Position

Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking a Box Office Associate to join our Guest Services team in Pittsfield, MA. This role requires a collaborative and adaptable individual with strong organizational and problem-solving skills who can provide efficient, friendly ticketing service while helping maintain a welcoming, accessible, and professional experience for all guests. JOB OVERVIEW The Box Office Associate supports the Box Office Manager with daily ticketing operations, including guest inquiries and sales, contributing to a welcoming, efficient, and accessible front-of-house experience for all patrons.

Requirements

  • Experience in customer service, ticketing, hospitality, or sales (1-2 years preferred).
  • Experience with CRM or ticketing platforms is helpful but not required (e.g., Spektrix, Tessitura, AudienceView); willingness to learn new systems is valued.
  • Strong communication skills across in-person, phone, and email interactions, with the ability to provide clear and friendly guidance to guests.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, stay calm under pressure, problem-solve in real time, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility for varied work hours and physical tasks, including evenings, weekends, and occasionally carrying, pulling, or lifting up to 25 lbs, while upholding equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily box office operations, including ticket sales, will-call, opening/closing procedures, and basic financial handling under the guidance of the Box Office Manager.
  • Provide attentive, human-centered customer service for phone, email, and in-person inquiries, including ticket purchases, exchanges, conflict resolution, and ADA accommodations.
  • Maintain accurate guest records in the CRM system (e.g., Spektrix) and ensure data integrity through proper data-entry practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support smooth front-of-house operations and an inclusive patron experience.
