About The Position

The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, vitally connected to our local area for over 50 years. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Be informed about and sell tickets for 300+ McAninch Arts Center (MAC) events during regular and performance hours. Understand and operate computerized ticketing system for processing of cash, check and credit sales. Represent the McAninch Arts Center to the public in a friendly and professional manner. Process single, group, and subscription ticket orders received by phone, fax, mail, in person and on-line, utilizing knowledge of the ProVenue Ticketing System for MAC and rental events for sale to the COD community, students, faculty and staff. Initiate credit card authorizations and ensure proper mailing of customer orders. Organize publicity information for access by Box Office personnel. Keep informed of all MAC events, discounts and special marketing offers. Maintain appropriate work station areas, including equipment, supplies and forms necessary for ticket sales. Update inventory database to ensure proper inventory of supplies. Assist Box Office Supervisor in preparation and delivery of daily deposits; ensure sufficient cash supplies for ticket, concession and bar sales. Accurately balance end-of-day reports and assist Box Office Supervisor with daily balancing of cash drawers. Assist in training new employees in Box Office procedures and ticketing software; manage student employees as needed. Resolve ticketing software problems with ProVenue support. Anticipate possible customer service issues and troubleshoot solutions. Complete PCI compliance training and adhere to these policies. Assist production staff and house managers to facilitate timely start of performances and to communicate patron needs. Prior to performances, distribute will-call tickets and sell to walk-up patrons in an efficient manner to ensure timely seating of theatre patrons. Fulfill orders placed with Goldstar and League of Chicago Theatres and requests for donated tickets from community members, charities and businesses. Process and accurately track MAC gift certificates. Prepare attendance and sales reports for use by the MAC Marketing Department. Maintain accessible needs report for each event for use by MAC house managers. Prepare discount vouchers coupons for select performances for COD faculty members. Handle special arrangements such as complimentary tickets and mobility impaired section tickets. Distribute and maintain hearing impaired devices. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum one-year part-time experience in a customer service environment required.
  • Must be computer literate, proficient in Excel, Word and data entry required.
  • Excellent customer service background required.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English; computer knowledge, ability to handle cash and work independently required.
  • Cash and credit card handling experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Some post-secondary education preferred.
  • Knowledge of performing arts preferred.
