About The Position

Rock Plumbing, Heating & Air is a fast-growing company looking to hire a ROCK STAR BOOKKEEPER with a fun energetic personality who wants to work for a great company! This is a full-time position, working as part of our dynamic team to assist in managing our day-to-day financial operations and support accurate, timely reporting . The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank accounts, and supporting payroll and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate has experience in the home services or construction trades industry and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience , preferably in HVAC, construction, or home services
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting , AP/AR, and reconciliations
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) or similar systems
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and basic HR/payroll compliance
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with job costing and service-based billing
  • Knowledge of sales tax, payroll tax, and contractor-related compliance
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience working in a small to mid-sized business environment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable , including invoicing and collections
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and loan statements
  • Process payroll and ensure accurate tracking of labor costs, overtime, and commissions
  • Track job costing, vendor expenses, and inventory-related transactions
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports
  • Assist with budgeting, cash flow tracking, and expense analysis
  • Support external accountants with tax preparation, audits, and compliance filings
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting best practices
  • Collaborate with operations and management to resolve billing or financial discrepancies
