About The Position

This contract Bookkeeper role focuses on a mix of accounts payable and accounts receivable, with some journal entry work and a strong emphasis on manual invoicing in QuickBooks. You will support day-to-day accounting operations in an industrial construction supply environment and help maintain accurate, timely financial records during a period of growth and transition.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of accounting experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or bookkeeping.
  • Hands-on experience in either accounts payable or accounts receivable; experience in both is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Practical bookkeeping and general accounting knowledge.
  • Ability to handle a significant amount of manual invoicing with high accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems, processes, and environments.
  • Effective communication skills to work with internal stakeholders and external vendors or customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a construction or manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Experience working in an industrial or operations-focused business is beneficial.
  • Comfort working in a role that blends accounts payable, accounts receivable, and basic journal entry responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a small accounting or operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable transactions, including reviewing vendor invoices, verifying accuracy, and preparing payments in a timely manner.
  • Manage accounts receivable activities, including generating customer invoices, posting payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Perform a high volume of manual invoicing with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Prepare and post basic journal entries to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records for both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile account balances and resolve discrepancies by researching and correcting errors as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information for invoicing, payments, and account reconciliation.
  • Operate within QuickBooks to enter, track, and report financial data.
  • Apply general accounting knowledge to support month-end and ongoing transactional activities.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and processes in a dynamic industrial and construction-related environment.
